He may be ginger and need a tan but Andy Robinson is making his Winter Festival catwalk debut today.
Queenstown businesses have put forward their best-looking lads and Robinson will parade before the public alongside 19 others in the Lindauer Top Bloke competition.
The chaps are required to woo women for votes at three functions during the 10-day festival, beginning with the launch party at Altitude Bar, 5pm today.
Their duties end with a “mad minute” performance at a cabaret show on Sunday, July 4 before the resort’s most delectable man is named.
Robinson, 27, ended up in the competition after losing a bet with his STA Travel workmate.
“Except for being a little bit nervous, it should be quite good fun,” the Scotsman says.
Robinson isn’t fazed whether he claims top spot or not.
“I’m not in it to win it – I’m just in it to have a good time.”
“I was in Australia for three weeks, but I’m ginger and Scottish so I don’t do tans,” he says.
“I’ve got the fairest skin in the world.”
