Celebrated Auckland drum and bass act State of Mind won’t let Good Friday licensing laws spoil their fun.
The prolific musicians, producers, podcast hosts and label owners play Skybar this Friday/Saturday – with the doors opening at midnight.
Bars are not allowed to serve alcohol without a meal until the clock strikes midnight on Good Friday.
SOM duo Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins have been a major presence on the New Zealand drum and bass scene since 2006.
Their first full CD Take Control garnered a nomination for a NZ Music Award and they scored another nomination in 2011 for third album Nil By Ear.
That sandwiched second LP Faster Than Light, featuring guest appearances from New Zealand artists PNC and Tiki Taane.
The duo, who’ve just returned from an extensive European tour, released a fourth album Eat the Rich worldwide on Monday.
