A dozen dedicated Queenstown women showcased slimmed-downed versions of themselves in stylish outfits at the Ladies Fashion Challenge tonight (Thursday).
After 12 weeks of hard slog exercising and eating well, the made-over ladies sashayed down the catwalk at Memorial Hall for the annual Winter Festival event.
Quick-witted host Emma Lange – aka vulgar American man Chucky for the first half of the evening – kept the 300-strong crowd in fits of during the show.
Contenders who battled through the fitness regime ranged from a woman in her twenties toning up before tying the knot, to 61-year-old local grandma and businesswoman Jan Butson.
Local lawyer Tanya Surrey lost a whopping 11.5kg during the challenge.
The women took three turns of the walkway – dressed in casual clothes, sports gear and glammed up evening wear.
Past participant mayor Vanessa van Uden – dubbed V-dog by Lange – advised the local ladies: “Really celebrate everything that you have achieved in the last few weeks.”
“I think we all just want to party tonight,” Philippa Winter, who has dropped nine kilograms, said.
The crowd also got a taste of Art2Wear, with some extravagant outfits from the Arrowtown Autumn Festival show being paraded down the catwalk.
