Slim pickings left for Summerlands

SUMMERLANDS is the very definition of a boutique festival.

Limited to a capacity of just 1200, the one-day music marathon near Wanaka boasts a line-up that punches well above its weight this year.

Ahoribuzz, Hollie Smith, Dub FX, Alix Perez, K+ Lab, and The Upbeats all feature on the bill of more than 20 acts.

Camping and VIP tickets sold out long ago for the two-stage event on the shores of Lake Hawea, at Lake Hawea Hotel grounds, on January 2.

But anyone wanting to go might still be able to snag general release tickets online or maybe on the door.
Festival director Reece Turfus says: “It’s quite hard for us to say if we’ll have any door sales.

“We are ahead of this time last year and are on track for a sell-out, so very pleased with where tickets are sitting.

“Last year we sold out on the day with doors sales, so if there were to be any doors sales left they will be $100.”

General release tickets online are $75 and final release online $85.

A return bus service will run from Queenstown for $40pp – see the festival’s Facebook page for details.

Summerlands 2014 is at Lake Hawea Hotel on January 2. Gates open 2.30pm, music until 2.30am
