Queenstown WinterFest comedy is a go

The stellar comedy line-up have had no trouble getting in for the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival’s sell-out double-header.

Whilst members of Dave Dobbyn’s band had to be choppered in for last Friday’s opening gig due to snow problems on the roads, six of the country’s finest stand-ups are here in plenty of time.

The line-up includes Jeremy Corbett, the host of hit TV3 show 7 Days and some of the show’s regulars Dai Henwood, Urzila Carlson and Paul Ego – the latter pairing also MCed opening night.

The rest of the line-up are Queenstown regular Brendhan Lovegrove, MC for the Memorial Centre shows tonight and tomorrow, and westie Ewen Gilmour.

Tickets for the first comedy gala night sold out in days as did those for tonight’s extra show, added due to popularity.
