Celebrity chef Josh Emett will be star judge at a Queenstown cookery contest this weekend.
The annual Remarkables Market Chef Competition gives amateur Queenstown cooks a chance to show off their culinary talent.
With the event now in its third heat, eight hopefuls have already cooked their way through the first two rounds.
Each contestant has just 60 minutes to whip up a mouth-watering dish for Emett to judge.
The meals will be made from a mystery box of ingredients which could include award-winning gourmet free-range bacon, ham, venison salami, blue cod and imported European goodies.
Remarkables Market boss Sherryn Smith says she’s thrilled to have Michelin-star chef Emett – who’s a star judge on hit TV show MasterChef New Zealand - on hand this Saturday.
“It’s an honour to have a chef of Josh’s calibre judging the competition [this weekend] and long-time local Jenny
Stewart will also be working alongside contestants as their supportive mentor chef.”
A further heat is on February 23, building up to the final on March 23.
