National Bee Week 2012

SHARE

August 20 – 24 is National Bee Week

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNER MACHIKO HOWICK

Most people only think about bees when they get stung. But without bees, two thirds of our everyday food would disappear, our gardens would be without many of their plants and flowers, and our major agri-export industries (worth around $5 billion) would be in severe trouble.

While bees in NZ are not under immediate threat, as in some overseas countries, they do face challenges and they do need to be actively protected and preserved.

Visit www.nba.org.nz for more information on what you can do to Love Our Kiwi Bees, plus check out the fun colouring competitions and word puzzles for the kids!

To celebrate National Bee Week, Mountain Scene is giving away this Comvita prize pack – valued at $100.

Competition closes Thursday 23 August. Winner will be notified by phone or email.
