Ailsa Woods and husband Lindsay fine-tune their original number ahead of tonight’s opening of Queenstown contest Songstars.
The pair is among 15 finalists who’ll perform their original songs to a live audience at Memorial Hall.
The show, starting at 8pm, also runs tomorrow night and Saturday. Lindsay, who usually performs alongside Ailsa as corporate covers group LA Social Club, says their original Don’t Throw it Away is a “little bit Van Halen and a little bit Daft Punk”.
“It’s dance-rock, if you will.”
Songstars is the brainchild of Wakatipu showbiz stalwart Margaret O’Hanlon and the winner – judged by audience votes – pockets $1000.
