Colourful Auckland DJ duo the Sweet Mix Kids have to be one of the busiest acts in New Zealand.
The twosome, Sandon James (pictured, top) and Rich Wilson, make their Queenstown debut this weekend as part of a nationwide tour. They’ll be at Lone Star tomorrow night and Saturday, juggling a wild mix of music from the 1940s to the present day.
“The key to our success has been getting lots of girls along to our gigs because they attract the guys and make for a sure-fire way of getting a good crowd along,” James says.
“Girls love chocolate, lollies and fun pop music so calling ourselves the Sweet Mix Kids made sense.
“We must be doing something right because we’re working 80 hours a week.”
