Just Go With It (with trailer)

I wasn’t expecting too much from this as I’m not the biggest Adam Sandler fan, and apart from her turn in 2009’s He’s Just Not That Into You, Jennifer Aniston hasn’t really been in anything I’ve liked that much.

Danny Maccabee (Sandler) is a very successful plastic surgeon in Los Angeles, and his assistant is Katherine (Aniston). Danny is a commitment-phobe who wears a wedding ring even though he isn’t married. This way, he gets the sympathy vote from pretty girls at the bar who fall for his “my wife treats me really bad and we’re getting a divorce” stories.

And then he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) at a party. Could she finally be the one? Well, after the ‘night after’, she finds the wedding ring in Danny’s pocket and demands an explanation. Danny gives her the divorce story but as Palmer demands to meet his ex-wife, he has no choice but to drag Katherine (and her kids) along to Hawaii so they can get to know each other, and for Katherine to give her blessing to Palmer. This is where it gets a bit complicated, as names have been changed, and then Katherine bumps into her college nemesis, Devlin (Kidman).

Of course, you can see where this is going. Katherine and Danny have been friends for years and during their Hawaiian vacation, they start to realise they have feelings for each other. Which makes things even more complicated.

The only issue I had with the film was it was a little long and could have been 20 minutes shorter, but the funny moments are actually funny and the best moments were not revealed in the trailer, which often happens!

Standout Performance: Nicole Kidman
