Queenstown fans of top Kiwi singer-songwriter Greg Johnson are in with a shot of appearing on his next album.
The Los Angeles-based star is back on home soil with his band for the first time in five years for a tour dubbed ‘Small Towns and Ball Gowns’.
Johnson is recording every concert on the national jaunt for his first live album – it’ll be available to download from his website once the tour is finished.
And that means fans going to his gig at Queenstown’s Prime restaurant on Saturday could make it on the record – if they make enough noise between songs.
The nine-album veteran says he can’t wait to be back on stage in the resort.
“It’s been several years since we played the most beautiful town in New Zealand,” Johnson says.
“I’ve played at the Winter Festival many times and I think a Flood Relief show, and possibly a party or two.”
He adds: “One gig we played I remember we kept blowing the power fuses at a pub, which was quite rock ‘n’ roll for me but we’re more acoustic now.”
Catch Greg Johnson at Prime bar and restaurant on Saturday from 8pm
