It’s always nice when local New Zea­land Post staff redirect to Mountain Scene any mail simply addressed: “Queenstown Paper”.

 

 

 

 

  • Local artist Tai Ward-Holmes provided colour to a Queenstown-based Australian ABC radio current affairs item on New Zealand’s tourism woes last Thursday. Interviewed by his lakeside easel, he admitted having to halve the cost of some of his work.
  • Local couple Bev and Mike Coburn hosted a joint 60th birthday party at the new Jacks Point resort clubhouse last Saturday for about 70 guests. Coburn is an original co-developer of Jacks Point and Lake Hayes Estate.
  • The read-your-speed sign by the Shotover bridge is working at long last – after nagging about its inactivity in this column two months ago.
