Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a medical engineer who is on her first mission to space accompanied by veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney). Whilst installing the piece of equipment of her own design, a catastrophic series of events lead to Stone and Kowalski tethered together, floating through space in a desperate fight for survival with no contact to Houston.
Director Alfonso Cuaron has made a visually stunning, gripping and emotional drama which should not be passed over as just a Sci-Fi movie. The 3D elements were fantastic and beautifully executed, a stereoscopic masterpiece which, for Cuaron’s debut into 3D, was stunning and impressive.
Many people don’t like 3D movies but until you’ve watched this, you shouldn’t make your judgement so easily. This is a 3D movie, made for 3D screens, using 3D equipment and it really shows.
5 out of 5 stars – Beautiful cinematography in truly immersive 3D
