Pop songstress Annabel Fay will bring Kiwi flavour to the international line-up at the Summer Vineyard Tour in Queenstown.
Fay is first on stage at Peregrine Vineyard next Thursday and she’s excited to be on a bill that includes US soul sensation Aloe Blacc and Aussie headliners John Butler Trio.
“This is the tour everyone wants to get on because it is awesome,” she says.
“You get to play on the bill with amazing international musicians. I’m just really proud to be associated with it.
“Personally live performances are my favourite part. It is the reason why I’m in the music industry. It’s the fun, exhilarating part.”
Fay will scan faces in the crowd for reaction to her new material – from an as-yet-untitled third album written in just four months.
“I pretty much just showed up on people’s doorsteps,” she says.
“I did some writing in Auckland, some in Sydney, LA, New York and Nashville.
“Usually I write on my computer with a producer – so they’re making the beats and I’m making the vocal melodies and the words.
“I was doing this back-to-back and six weeks straight at one point, every day with different writers,” Fay says.
“It is really going to change the shape of where I go from now.”
Gates to the gig open at 5pm.
