the WinterFest programme.

The Basics

Car parking

Man Street Car Park has more than 400 secure parking spaces close to the action downtown.

Vehicles can enter from Man St and there’s a pedestrian walkway to Shotover St.


Winter Festival takes place downtown and at Coronet Peak skifield.

Walking is easiest for most downtown events, and local bus service Connectabus runs to/from town from early morning till late at night, covering Queens­­­town, Frankton, Arrowtown, Millbrook Resort, Lake Hayes, Remarkables Park, Queenstown Airport, Fernhill and Sunshine Bay.

Coronet Peak is a 30-minute drive from Queenstown by car or you can catch one of the shuttle buses from town.

Friday, June 26

Fireworks go off at 7.30pm on the dot at the American Express Opening Party & Fireworks – warm up with a mulled wine and a live show from Wellington percussionists Strike.

Saturday, June 27

The Street Parade is on at 11 am, giving you time to enjoy the fun and still get to the Events Centre for the Wellington Phoenix v Melbourne Victory soccer match at 2.30pm.

Sunday, June 28

Queenstown lets loose at the More FM Day on the Bay at noon – there’s still time to register for the Birdman competition at www.winterfestival.co.nz.
