Shaken, not stirred
International bartenders will get a shake up in New Zealand’s adventure capital at the the fifth annual 42 Below Cocktail World Cup.
Forty-five competitors will take cocktails and mixology out of the bar and into the Queenstown wilderness during the five-day challenge, from September 9-13.
Knockout rounds during the week will whittle down the bartenders - from 13 countries - until the final battle pits country against country for the title.
As well as the main comp, some of the world’s most respected bartenders will share their knowledge through Cocktail Summits.
Past gurus who’ve shared their tips include president of the United Kingdom Bar Peoples’ Guild Peter Dorelli, Dale de Grof and Angus Winchester.
If you want to join the selected bartenders during their week in Queenstown, visit any of the participating bars and try the bartenders’ specially crafted cocktails.
