Road warriors: Famine fundraisers Andrea Price and Sheree Fitzi in Queenstown
A pair of cycling novices travelling the country for a famine fundraiser are thanking Queenstown for giving generously.

Kiwi Sheree Fitzi and Canadian Andrea Price, who both started in Bluff nine days ago, raised $180 whilst in Queenstown. That takes their running total to about $1400 - the pair hope to raise about $10,000 overall.

The pair held a fundraiser at World Bar on Monday night, selling a raffle and pool challenges.

"Big thanks to Brazz Bar, World Bar and Mojo band," Fitzi says after her and Price made it over the Crown Range Road to Cardrona this afternoon (Tuesday).

"Just arrived in Cardrona after 10km of uphill."

Fitzi and Price are raising money to go towards World Vision efforts to feed starving people in the Horn of Africa. You can follow their exploits on their blog at www.bikingnz.blogspot.co.nz.
