The man who fired – then rehired – Wakatipu High principal Lyn Cooper says he’s pleased the school can now move on following her resignation.
Ministry of Education-appointed limited statutory manager Peter Macdonald says: “I’m very, very happy with the outcomes – being the terms of agreement [of Cooper’s departure] and particularly the fact that the school can now get on.”
Cooper (pictured) resigned last Friday – three weeks after she was reinstated. During that time she also took a week-long holiday to Australia.
Cooper was sacked in September after several investigations into issues with senior management.
She later lodged a claim with the Employment Relations Authority and following mediation, she was reinstated in November.
