A visiting troupe of unaccompanied singers on tour from the United States have sung for their supper outside a Queenstown burger joint.
Soul food: Visiting singing troupe the Whiffenpoofs sing for their supper outside Fergburger
The 13 members of Yale University’s Whiffenpoofs – selected for a world singing tour as part of an annual tradition at the US college – put on an impromptu performance for half an hour on the footpath outside Fergburger earlier this month.
The 7pm a cappella show went down a treat with passersby and customers.
Fergburger operations manager Stephen Bradley says families really enjoyed it.
“Kids and families formed a front row there for a while. It was a bit of fun.”
Bradley says Fergburger served up each member with a free burger and beer for their trouble.
Queenstown is the last stop on their international tour before they head back to Yale and their studies.
