Cops want to hear from anyone connected to this K2 Anagram snowboard, found on an empty Quail Rise section last Saturday morning.
It may be linked to a burglary of a Quail Rise house that occurred between 1am-9.45am the same day, Drader says.
Items stolen include a black camera bag, Canon gear including an EOS 5D Mark 2 digital camera, 450D digital SLR, 50mm lens, 18-50mm lens, two filters, two memory cards, a Speedlite flash, a black HP Pavilion laptop, and a 3G iPhone.
Police found the snowboard when they went to investigate the burglary.
Two local 18-year-old boys nabbed for disorderly behaviour a fortnight ago were arrested for causing more trouble early last Saturday morning.
The teens allegedly attacked two other local 18-year-old males, walking in town with an 18-year-old girl at about 12.30am, constable Sean Drader says.
One victim was dealt a couple of “full-force kicks” to the back while on the ground and then punched in the head before a member of the public intervened and the offenders ran off.
Drader says it was the “same idiots” who kicked a police car on Ballarat Street on August 31.
“They were on bail for the previous charges,” Drader observes.
The teens – one an electrician and the other unemployed – were charged with common assault and assault with intent to injure.
Homeward bound
An Irishman who got lippy with a taxi driver may be on a one-way flight home after being collared by cops.
The 23-year-old had an argument with a driver over a fare at 2.50am on Monday – police were called and the man became abusive, Drader says.
“He didn’t want to give his details so he was taken back to the station. Low and behold there had been a removal notice served on him by Immigration New Zealand.”
A 40-year-old Dalefield man was warned after allegedly shoulder barging a taxi driver on August 1 at 10.30pm. The “grossly intoxicated” man became verbally abusive towards the cabbie after a dispute over payment, Drader says.
“He went to pay and snatched his card from the driver. Then he allegedly shoulder barged him.”
The fare was later paid.
“He was apologetic and very embarrassed,” Drader adds.
Too drunk to walk
A drunken local chef, 37, was taken home by police after being found “walking on his hands and knees” on Rees Street last Saturday at 11.45pm.
“He was unable to put one foot in front of the other,” Drader says
