A Queenstown physio and pilates studio owner’s hosting a women’s wellness retreat that’s doubling as a breast cancer fundraiser.

Form Pilates Studio’s Aimee Liddington’s putting on the event at Rydges and QT Queenstown this Saturday, October 29, from 8am till noon.

She’s receiving support from both the hotel and event organiser QT Event Collective.

Following a pilates session, there’ll be a nutritious breakfast, then talks from four guest speakers — personal coach Emma Ferris, who’s addressing ‘the breath effect’, pelvic physio Meesha Powell, mental health advocate, gym manager and boxing coach Linda Owens and a breast cancer survivor.

Liddington says she wants to give women the opportunity to hear what these experts have to say ‘‘in a safe space where people can just openly talk about things and learn’’.

Some of the information on women’s health is ‘‘stuff people want to know but they’re too afraid to ask about’’.

She’s charging $170 for the morning, which she says compares favourably with what you have to fork out for ‘‘all these wonderful wellness retreats’’.

Businesses have donated $7000-plus towards silent auction prizes and gift bags which include a luxury yoga mat and an exercise band.

All proceeds are going to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, a special cause for Liddington — ‘‘I’ve lost some really close family members to breast cancer’’.
