Queenstown artist Lynda Hensman’s launched a contemporary art exhibition at The Ivy Box, on Park Street, that’s effectively her gallery’s second reopening.

She opened the gallery in the town’s original butcher’s shop, noted for the ivy and Virginia creeper covering its old stone walls, in 2016.

She then extensively restored and expanded the gallery, reopening it a year ago, however due to ‘‘horrendous’’ roadworks on Park St and Suburb St, it’s just about been inaccessible till recently.

The spring exhibition, entitled ‘Cascade’, features new paintings, sculpture, drawings and jewellery by nine emerging and established New Zealand artists.
