Eight Queenstown restaurants are among 250 included in the 2023-24 Cuisine Good Food Guide, being released today, coinciding with the Cuisine Good Food Awards at SkyCity Auckland.

Cuisine editor Kelli Brett says along with announcing 18 category winners, Cuisine Chef of the Year, and American Express Restaurant of the Year, Cuisine will also announce its ‘hat’ allocations for 2023, highlighting restaurants delivering New Zealand’s most outstanding dining experiences.

The ‘hat’ is an equivalent to the Michelin star rating used internationally.

Queenstown restaurants included in the list this year are Botswana Butchery, The Bathhouse, The Cow, Jervois Steak House and Rata, along with Lake Haye’s Amisfield and Arrowtown’s Aosta.

Brett says all the establishments were assessed by the 40-strong judging panel, comprising food writers, critics, chefs and hospitality industry professionals, led by food writer and industry expert Kerry Tyack.
