Arrowtown alt-country band Killergrams release the final single from an upcoming album at Queenstown’s Wet Jacket Wines today.

The single, I Was Waiting Here, is the first jointly written for the band by frontman, Tom Maxwell, and his brother, bass guitarist Sam.

The other band members are drummer Reuben Pearce, who’s originally from Dunedin, and keyboardist Nick Lynch.

Opening today’s concert – doors open at noon – are guests Gina Malcolm, who recently collaborated with Killergrams for her debut single, Don’t Expect The World, and local songwriter Jack Speedy.

For their sets, Killergrams are being accompanied by backing singers, sisters Izzy and Becky Reid and Sophie Pyke.

The band’s new single is also being released today “on anything you can stream music on”, Tom Maxwell says.

Having released their first album, Midnight Hours, in 2019, Killergrams plan releasing Lonely Nights In A Little Town in the next few months, then touring it around New Zealand, Australia and, hopefully, Europe.

Killergrams’ single release, today, noon, Wet Jacket Wines; tickets $10 from undertheradar.co.nz
