Gulfstream and Citation corporate jets have been winging their way into Queenstown again from overseas.

There’ve now been 66 private jet movements at Queenstown Airport — 34 arrivals and 32 departures — since the international border with Australia reopened on May 23.

Airport CEO Glen Sowry says ‘‘it’s encouraging to see those very high-value visitors, who spend a lot of money in the region, starting to return’’.

‘‘Queenstown’s always been an attractive place for high-value tourists to come and experience the best the region has to offer.’’

The jets have mostly come from Australia and Asia, with indications some are on the way from North America this summer.
