Wakatipu High all-girl band Estrogen won one of four performance awards at the recent Central Sound Wave 2022 held at Queenstown’s Yonder.

The event once again featured soloists and bands from regional high schools performing either covers or their own compositions.
Mount Aspiring College’s Parabola and Powder Chutes and Cromwell College’s Grace Tiko also won performance awards.
The event, which continues to grow each year, was a collaboration between the local RockFormation Charitable Trust and Whakatipu Youth Trust, and was supported by Yonder, Central Lakes Trust, Maya Music and Queenstown’s council.
