Queenstown Dinner Club members raised $600 for Happiness House at a whip-round at their last gathering of the year.
President and venue coordinator Ella Wilson, left, is pictured handing the cash to community support centre manager Lena Boss, who’s using it to buy Christmas presents for hard-up local families and individuals.
Meanwhile, the club, which boasts 62 members and dines at a different restaurant each month, turns 30 next year.
Wilson’s inviting past members to contact her — at [email protected] — ahead of a celebration on April 3 next year.
She says the club’s in great heart, ‘‘though it’s hard getting into restaurants sometimes, at the moment’’.
