Queenstown Dinner Club members have carried on a five-year tradition by loosening their pockets at the end of the year in support of local community support centre, Happiness House.
Club president Ella Wilson, right, whose members dine at a different restaurant every month, is pictured presenting $400 to Happiness House manager Lena Boss last week.
‘‘It’s always good to receive this money over Christmas so we can support families who are in hardship,’’ Boss says.
‘‘It is very stressful for families, especially if you can’t get presents for your loved ones, so I guess this is a really good opportunity for us to share the love.’’
