Simply the best: Jimmy Allen, with his certificate for leading agent, surrounded by , from left, Bayleys chairman John Bayley, colleague Phoebe Swale, local managing director David Gubb, colleague Jessica Coburn and group operations manager Stacy Coburn

Agents from Bayleys’ Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wānaka and Cromwell offices had plenty to celebrate at their annual awards night last Friday.

In a local market where residential sales volumes have gone down more than 20%, local boss David Gubb says their volume’s gone up over the past year.

And although prices have gone down 17 to 20% in various regions, ‘‘value-wise the prices are about the same, may be even a little bit stronger’’.

While ‘‘days to sell’’ have increased, Gubb says they’re still having a lot of success with their auction programme — ‘‘you get results a lot better with an auction process’’.

Bayleys Queenstown’s Jimmy Allen was announced as the leading agent based on sales values over the past year.

In accepting his award, he was joined on the stage by his team members Jessica Coburn and Phoebe Swale — Coburn was also runner-up to Allen.
