Set in a world where people interact and ultimately live using a robotic version of themselves, Surrogates is the new sci-fi action with Bruce Willis.

The story is quite complex and is confusing at points but could have been developed further into a much more compelling and entertaining script. The special effects however, are fantastic with everyone looking attractive, young and robotic. It is quite an achievement both for the actors and the SFX team.

The movie is worth a watch – even if only to see Bruce looking oddly young again!

Standout performance: Bruce Willis’s face. (When he’s in surrogate mode his face doesn’t move, twitch or emote – it’s quite impressive.)

This movie is now showing at Reading Cinemas in Queenstown.
