How do you like those chocolates?
Millbrook Cricket Club’s Billy Sheehy (right) loves a laugh – especially at the expense of his bowling victims.
Queenstown Central Pelicans batsmen Dzin Alekzander (right middle) and Brenden Winder (right bottom) had their wickets spreadeagled in successive balls by Sheehy in a Twenty/20 friendly at Millbrook Corner last Sunday.
The Pelicans posted 157 and the veteran MCC team fell short by 12 runs in their run chase.
So the inaugural Zimbabwe Stone Pelican Trophy for what was dubbed the Battle of Millbrook Corner was handed over to Winder, the Pelicans captain.
In a victory for fathers and their sons, Damian Petre and his father John top-scored with 30 retired for the Pelicans and MCC, respectively.
The Pelicans will play the Jacks Point Angry Dragons on January 16 at the Events Centre to launch the second season of the eight-team Mountain Scene Twenty/20 Cricket League.
