Get ready for Queenstown Twenty/20 cricket’s Clash of the Titans.

Frankton and Kelvin Heights – the two unbeaten teams after six rounds of the Mountain Scene Twenty/20 league – play their final round-robin game on the main Events Centre oval.

Frankton player/manager Daz Hooper is confident his team will beat Kelvin Heights while admitting he doesn’t know much about them: “I just know that they’ve been buying players left, right and centre.”

Veteran Kelvin Heights skipper John Cushen replies: “We’re starting to believe in ourselves, I’m pretty confident that if all the guys bring their A games it’ll be a great battle.”

Cushen has scouted a couple of Frankton games: “They look an exceptionally good bowling unit.”

Hooper rates his side’s bowling and fielding ahead of its batting: “We’ve got a lot of bowling options but we’re a generally solid batting side as well – we’ve got some hitters and some nudgers.”

Proof his team can bat came last Friday when they smashed 187 against Wakatipu and won by 71 runs. Cam Fawkner top-scored with 74.
