Unbeaten sides Central Queenstown and Wakatipu clash in the fourth round of the Mountain Scene Twenty/20 cricket competition this Sunday.
Central Queenstown – who won the first two competitions – compiled 164 against Jack’s Point last Sunday.
Jack’s Point were restricted to 107 for 7 in reply, despite former All Black Justin Marshall top-scoring with 45.
Wakatipu recorded a six-wicket win over Frankton last Sunday.
Luke Dalglish had an outstanding game for Wakatipu, taking 5 for 17 and top-scoring with 40.
Defending champions Arrowtown, who are also unbeaten, play fast-rising Fernhill/Sunshine Bay in Sunday’s other mouth-watering game.
In their match last Friday, Arrowtown racked up 138 with Dan Eyles top-scoring with 67. Arrowtown then held Kelvin Heights – beaten finalists last season – to 95.
Last Sunday, Fernhill/Sunshine Bay scored a league-record 222 for the loss of two wickets against a hapless Lake Hayes Estate.
Jarred Andrew scored 118 not out, helped by at least eight dropped catches.
Lake Hayes Estate bowler Johnny Hill had 43 runs smashed off his two overs.
In reply, Lake Hayes Estate mustered 126 for seven wickets with Dean Jamieson getting to 57.
