Queenstown boys in the Mount Aspiring College 1st XV got to learn skills from top All Blacks coaches last week.

Cron and McLean spent two days in Wanaka last week on a special training camp for the team, which comprises the best school-age rugby players from Mount Aspiring College, Cromwell College and Wakatipu High.
The squad learned defensive patterns, scrum and lineout techniques, backline alignment and moves, plus player roles at the ruck and maul, coach Hamish Crosbie says.
“Having two of the best coaches in the world spend six hours with our boys was great learning experience and a privilege for everyone involved,” he says.
“It will be a massive boost for the team heading into their first season of Highlanders 1st XV competition.”
The team plays Otago Boys’ High School’s 1st XV on Saturday in Wanaka at 1pm.
