See you later, pal

Veteran Southern Stampede forward Simon Wilson skates past West Auckland Admirals’ Braedyn Durbin in the Queenstown-based team’s 6-0 win at the local Fun Centre last Friday, with team-mate Cameron Frear in support.

The Stampede also beat the Admirals 6-2 the next night for a good start in their bid to take out the New Zealand Ice Hockey League title they last won three years ago.

This weekend the Stampede travels to Auckland for a double-header against Botany Swarm, who have won the league the past two seasons. Their next home games in the five-team competition are against Dunedin Thunder on June 27-28.
