Resort players dominate disc classic

Prominent local disc golf player Hemi Te Awhitu won the overall title at last weekend’s 24th annual Queenstown Classic Disc Golf Tournament on the Gardens course.

He also won the masters division.

Second overall was another local, Morgan Harteveld, who dominated the men’s open division.

Queenstowner Pete McKay was third overall and second in the masters division.

Aucklander Mario Cerniar was fourth overall and second in the men’s open.

The top four placings were determined by a ‘fantastic four’ six-hole shootout after they’d played four 18-hole rounds over two days.

A record 72 players registered for the tournament.
