GO figure.
You put on a national primary schools’ skiing comp on Queenstown’s The Remarkables and one of the stand-out schools is the resort’s Remarkables Primary.
Sixteen school teams from as far away as Auckland and Masterton entered the inaugural Queenstown Alpine Ski Team-hosted national junior schools alpine skiing champs about 10 days ago.
It was run as a dual slalom and was split into Year 1-4, 5-6 and 7-8 divisions.
From Remarkables Primary, aptly-named Remarkably Fast — Hyugo Saunders, Finn McCaw and Violet Smillie — won the Year 7-8 comp.
RPS Rockets — Jack James, April Bentley and Gemma Thomas — finished second.
A Wanaka Primary team won the Year 5-6 comp, followed by Remarkables Primary’s Skiing Unicorns — Elsie Seeto, Jessica McCaw and Emily Harris.
Year 4 Remarkables Primary student Nero Saunders joined with two kids from other schools, as the Odd Balls, to take out the Year 1-4 comp.
