Queenstown alpine ski racer Taylor Rapley has taken out the women’s high-speed super G race at the Winter Games.

Rapley clocked one minute and 22.7 seconds in her run at Mt Hutt on Saturday.

It capped a good day for Queenstown ski racers – Tim Café claimed fifth in the men’s event.

In the women’s, Taylor’s Kiwi team-mate Lucie Tait-Jamieson was second while Rikke Gasmann-Brott was third.

Queenstown-born Rapley, a New Zealand team member, says she was excited to win after poor performances earlier in the season.
