Top Queenstown skier Adam Barwood has kicked off his racing season with the New Zealand men’s team in style.
Barwood (pictured) was the overall winner of the four-day Wanaka Tech FIS Series which wrapped up on Saturday.
Barwood finished top of the podium in the giant slalom races on Thursday at Cardrona and Friday at Treble Cone and also claimed second place in Saturday’s slalom race at Treble Cone.
Snow Sports New Zealand alpine manager James Lazor says Barwood’s made a great start to the season.
“I’m pleased to see him headed in the right direction,” Lazor says.
Aucklander Lucie Tait-Jamieson helped cleaned up the competition for the New Zealand Women’s Team, winning Wednesday’s slalom race and the giant slalom on Thursday and Friday.
