Queenstowner Lydia Barbour’s a relative newcomer to the sport of pole dancing – but you wouldn’t know it.
Barbour, 26, grooved her way to third in the Miss Pole Dance New Zealand competition’s elite category in Wellington earlier this month.
The former accomplished Kiwi gymnast only started at Queenstown Pole Fitness Studio last year and this was her first time competing.
Top Queenstown pole dancer Anna Ashton, who won a sponsor’s choice award, says for Barbour to place against some of the best in the country is nothing short of awesome.
Barbour: “Gaining third place in the elite women’s category was really rewarding. It was a really great experience – we all worked so hard preparing for the show.”
