Queenstowners have a strong showing at the annual Central Otago Sports Awards at the Cellar Door in Alexandra tomorrow.
Queenstown Winter Olympian, alpine skier Tim Café (right), faces stiff competition in the Senior Men’s section from fellow snow boys adaptive skier Adam Hall – a Winter Paralympics gold medallist – and Wanaka freeski ace Jossi Wells in the Senior Men’s section.
Adam Barwood, 17, a member of the New Zealand development ski racing team, is in the running for the Junior Men’s title.
The Wakatipu Pony Club equestrian team and the Wakatipu High ice hockey team are best Sports Team finalists.
“Queenstown has a good lineup this year,” awards organiser Bill Godsall says.
Tickets costing $50 include a meal and are still available from Sports Central.
