Pro skier Pete Oswald is leaving the Wakatipu summer behind for European snow today.
The 25-year-old freeride skier will be based in French resort Chamonix for two months to train with fellow Kiwis Neil Williman and Sam Smoothy.
Ranked 41st in the 2010 Freeride World Tour Qualifier, Oswald will be hitting at least three major European big mountain competitions and “any other comps that I can fit in” between filming, photo shoots and chasing powder.
The skier has been working as a chainsaw contractor in Queenstown over the summer to raise money to fund his European jaunt.
This photo of K2 skis-sponsored Oswald flying off Flegere Cliff in Chamonix was snapped by Gus Hurst last year.
