Big-name Pakistani cricketers have been feasting on curries in Indian restaurants in Queenstown this week.

The players are in town for a one-day international against the Black Caps tomorrow.

Coach Waqar Younis, a former fast-bowling great and veteran bowling star Shoaib Akhtar were spotted yesterday at Freiya’s in Camp Street.

Now 35, Akhtar holds the record for the fastest delivery in cricket – a 161.3kmh bullet against England’s Nick Knight at the 2003 World Cup.

Younis took 373 Test wickets in a 14-year career that ended in 2003, and 416 ODI wickets.

Silky batsman Younis Khan and fast bowler Umar Gul were also among a group dining at India Once Upon A Time yesterday.

A former Pakistani captain, Khan, 33, has scored 17 Test centuries, including a triple century two years ago.
Gul, 26, has taken 125 Test wickets.

The pair also dined there the night before.
