Queenstowner Luke Gaskell (left) shows his stuff on the way to winning the Summer Sk8 Sesh at Queenstown Gardens last Saturday.
The 25-year-old was one of about 30 competitors, raising $500 that’ll go towards skate park additions.
Arrowtown 15-year-old Hootie Andrews won the under 16 competition.
Organiser Taran Campbell says Chey Grace of Dunedin picked up the “charger” award for going the most hard-out during the event.
“He threw himself down everything and went non-stop all day, pushing himself to the limit.”
Campbell says the money raised will be used to help pay for lights at the skate park for night sessions and improvements making it more accessible for beginners.
