It all seems calm – as the battle rages

Queenstown’s Vicki Anderson calmly completes the inaugural Queenstown 10km Run or Walk last Saturday, while in her wake Eion Kelly (left) and Martin James battle each other to the Warren Park finish line.

James pipped Kelly by one second to finish in 56min 30sec – the fastest male, Andrew Douglas, finished in 33:12 followed by well-known Queenstown veteran Chris Dagg in 36:18.

The two leading women were Jordan Davignon in 44:34 and Ivonne McDonnell-Grant in 45:19.

Organised by The Frontrunner Queenstown owner Paul Garvie, assisted by Sport Central’s Bill Godsall, the event was held along Malaghans Road and attracted 174 runners and 33 walkers.

Garvie is “really happy” with the event and is already planning next year’s.
