AN under-14 Southern Ice Hockey League team including six Queenstowners has won an inter-state tournament in Adelaide, Australia.
The team, coached by Queenstowner Nick Flight, beat the South Australian Shark, last year’s winners, 2-1 in last Sunday’s final.
They lost only one of their nine games, and won a pre-tournament game against a South Australian team that was televised.
The local players were Flight’s son Jackson, who was named in the tournament ‘all stars line’, Isaac Reid, Jack Robbie, Heath Pankhurst, Charlie van Asch and Levi March.
