Queenstown pro golfer Laura Hoskin’s missed the initial cut at the LPGA Qualifying School in California for the top 135 players by one shot.
Playing the 14th hole in the third round, Hoskin was one shot inside the cut after three birdies and two bogeys, looking good to make the final round with a shot up her sleeve.
Two bogeys undid that, leaving her the par-5 final hole to make a necessary birdie.
Unfortunately, her solid par was not good enough despite three consistent rounds of 74, 73, 73.
Of the five Kiwis, three made the cut and Canterbury’s Amelia Garvey was the only one of those to finish inside the top 95 and progress to stage two on October 21-24.
Hoskin’s due back in New Zealand on Thursday.
