Queenstown cop Terry Wood needs help to crack a tough assignment – a gruelling charity run from Frankton to Lake Dispute, via Ben Lomond.
The super-fit policeman is one of just a handful of locals taking part in the 7in7 Challenge fundraiser for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation New Zealand.
The event, in its second year, takes in seven Southern Lakes trails in the space of a week, from November 28 to December 4.
Wood will join organiser Malcolm Law and other entrants for the 38km December 1 leg in Queenstown, expected to take about seven hours to complete.
“I’ve been training for the past few months but it’s still going to be really difficult,” Wood says.
“Sponsorship has been going quite well but I could be doing with a little bit more assistance.”
Law, of Auckland, last year raised more than $85,000 for the charity and is hoping to double the amount this time.
