Glass’ success at swan song

Queenstown ice hockey stalwart Simon Glass has finished his career on a high note.
The ex-Ice Blacks and local Southern Stampede captain skippered the South Island to retain the Glass Shield – named after his family – in Auckland last Saturday.

After trailing most of the match, the South beat the North 6-5.

Glass scored two goals and received the shield from NZ Ice Hockey Federation president Grant Hay.
