Games hopeful does nine hours and 400km

Tireless cross-country mountain bike champ Kate Fluker powers through the kilometres to raise cash for her MTB World Cup race season.

Fluker, 26, clocked more than 400km in nine hours 24 minutes on a stationary bike in Brian Smith Park, Shotover Street, Queenstown, on Saturday – with sponsors matching each km with a dollar.

Scores of volunteers, including Queenstown downhiller Jamie Lyall, rode four other stationary bikes in the park to help her reach 1700km and dollars in total.
